(faraway music plays, as if in the far-off distance, way over THERE)
(fade to couple walking down the aisle-at Lowe's
6pm- Find dishwasher that will fit in under new counter height (counters we have not yet installed). Employee goes back into the "stocking" area to find one. It takes about 15 minutes in real time. It feels even longer.
(side note: I understand that in the world of patience as a virtue, 15 minutes is not a long time, but in the world of 9-month-pregnant wife and husband on-trip-to-Lowe's-while-paying-for-a-babysitter, it's an eternity. end side note)
6:15pm- Move on over into the Tile aisle, to look for tile. There are many, many options. We have moved into the simplify portion of our lives. WE choose two that look cool and decide to take them home. We may go to another tile store to see if we can get it cheaper, but then again, we may not even bother. The baby may arrive in less than a month, so priorities now begin making our house fully operational again.
6:17pm- Stroll 20 ft. to the back of the store to take a look at sinks. (Our counter guy will be in Monday morning to do measurements, so we decided we might as well pick out our sink now...
6:55pm- Let's just say that finding something and actually being able to GET something are really two different things. We found a sink we'd be happy with. A nice white cast iron sink, deep and wide. A sight to behold. Only, we can't find a box that has one.
7:15pm- Eventually, by doing the agitated customer dance (see 6pm side note) we manage to gain the attentions of "Tony". "Tony" (name changed to protect the innocent-not that it NEEDS to be protected mind you) is actually very helpful. Cast iron sinks are VERY heavy, so the one waaaaaay up high doesn't seem like a good option. The other choice is the old box that looks like it's been opened and/or dropped at the bottom. Tony says it's just rain damage to the box and offers a 10% discount. He opens the box, we check it out, it's great. Sweeeeeeeeet. We like Tony.
7:30pm- Tony then manages to sell us the necessary faucets for the sink. We happily accept. We even bought the soap dispenser. Fools!
7:31pm- We then buy painting supplies for tomorrow's paint-a-thon with our whole family. It will be a day to remember. Need extra rollers. Need blue tape to prevent bad painting.
7:50pm- Leave Lowe's with receipt to pick up heavy items Saturday morning. Head to Coldstone's to use our "Buy one get one free" coupon.
7:59pm- MMmmmm...Coldstone's ice cream. Mmmmmm...two for one.
8:15pm- Return home, then return the babysitter and her friend to their homes.

8:30pm- Run around the house with Silas for 30 minutes, then read stories, then brush teeth, then go to bed, then get water, then get more water, then go back to sleep...GO TO BED!!
9:30pm- Watch TV. Veg out.
Saturday Morning
6:30am- Silas enters room. "Mommy-Daddy, WAKE UP!! Mommy-Daddy...WAKE UP!!"
"Ok, Buddy, we're awake."

Ok. I can't write anymore. All I can say is we had Joy's sisters, Mom, and brother-in-law over to help us with painting. We managed to paint Silas' wall and closet, the kitchen ceiling, the insides of the windows, the living room wall, and a bunch of other little things. We even moved the piano. Yeah...it was a busy day. I can tell you that our two young children (Silas and his cousin Mark) both took a FOUR HOUR NAP while we painted. God, thank you. We needed that.
